For private recreational vessels, the season starts on June 11th and ends on July 25th, giving anglers 45 days of opportunities to catch their fill! The season starts earlier and ends later if you are a federally permitted for-hire fishing company!

Starting on July 1st, the Gulf Reef Fish Survey is being replaced by the State Reef Fish Survey, requiring any anglers planning to harvest certain reef fish (Red Snappers included) to obtain the State Reef Fish Angler designation. This helps to prevent any instances of overfishing the waters!
