Things To Do in PCB During Mardi Gras
The fun starts on Friday, February 3rd, with the float tours starting at Pier Park. Check out each float before it appears in the parade and the hard work that goes into making this event such a great time! The Kids Fun Zone and Festival Village in the Skywheel Plaza will also be open then.
The opening ceremonies and kids’ parade starts early at Pier Park, with the second-line parade starting shortly afterward. After the second-line parade opening, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band begin their live performance on the Celebration Stage. The fireworks end the evening at Russell-Fields City Pier.
On Sunday, start your day early with the Mardi Gras 5K Fun Run at Frank Brown Park! The Kids Fun Zone and Festival Village open in the early afternoon at the Skywheel Plaza, and live music begins afterward on the Celebration Stage. The Frontmen play first, followed by Sawyer Brown. Head to Powell Adams/Front Beach Road in the afternoon to watch the Krewe of Dominique Youx’s Mardi Gras at the Beach parade. Cap the night off watching the fireworks at Russell-Fields City Pier.
The Second Weekend
The following weekend kicks off with the Krewe of St. Andrew’s Mardi Gras parade on Friday, February 10th. Come for the kid’s parade, which starts in the late afternoon, and stay for the food and fun until late at night. Then, on Saturday the 11th, prepare to catch some beads when the main parade begins in the afternoon. The delicious food smells and parade music sounds will fill the air while the historic parade travels down Beck Ave.
On Sunday, February 12th, the festival begins mid-morning. If you are staying with your pets in one of our pet-friendly PBC condos you will have to stay for the Pet Parade in the afternoon to watch the adorable animals dressed in Mardi Gras attire. Admission to the event is free.
More Information
The Krewe of St. Andrews gives back to the community by contributing to several local charities and colleges with scholarships. The Krewe has donated over $200,000.00 to charities over the years. They hope to keep it going as this terrific event continues to grow.
February in Florida is chillier than expected, so if you are visiting from out of town, be sure to pack a light coat! Rain can come out of nowhere, so also make sure you’re prepared for bad weather. The Krewe is expecting even more turnout this year than in previous years, which means bigger crowds and more fun! Make sure you have a plan in place with your family members and friends in case you get separated from each other.
