Explore the St. Andrews Park on Your Panama City Beach Vacation

Spanning more than 1,200 acres, St. Andrews Park is a must-see when visiting Panama City. With so many things to see and do, you can easily spend an afternoon at the park. Go for a boat ride, lounge on the beach, or hike one of the trails. The park is just 2.6 miles from our 3 bedroom condos in Panama City Beach.

Beaches

St. Andrews Park is home to more than 1.5 miles of white sandy beaches. Go for a stroll, or soak up the sun. The park has some of the best-preserved sand dunes in the world.

The mainland beach is easily accessible from two parking areas. Boardwalks help preserve the dunes while making the beaches easy to access. If you’re looking for a more secluded beach, take the ferry or paddle your way to Shell Island.

The beaches at St. Andrews Park offer great opportunities for photographers and bird watchers to catch a glimpse of some rare birds and wildlife.

Things to Do

Whether you’re looking to spend a relaxing afternoon with your sweetheart or go on  a fun adventure with the kids, St. Andrews Park has something for everyone.

Take a leisurely bike ride through the park’s two-mile paved road. Pack a picnic, or hike one of the park’s two trails: Gator Lake and Heron Pond. The trails offer excellent opportunities to view some of the local wildlife, including wading birds, waterfowl and even alligators.

The boat ramp gives you access to the Gulf of Mexico and Shell Island. Shuttle boat tours to Shell Island are also available in the spring and summer.

For those who want to spend the night, there are two campground loops near Grand Lagoon with 176 camp sites in total. These sites have water, electricity, grills and picnic tables. Reservations for campground spots can be made up to 11 months in advance.

If you’re looking to spend some time out on the water, bring a kayak to paddle around Grand Lagoon, or spend the afternoon fishing at one of the two fishing piers. Catches include bluefish, flounder, redfish, Spanish mackerel and sea trout.
